SUMMARY:Birthing Your Book: Self Publishing Tips

July 1\, 2023 \n \n \n \n Post-event update: Thanks for your interest. \n \n \n \n You can watch the video of the event—hosted by Writers in Kyoto—here on their YouTube channel. Enjoy\, and good luck with your book. \n \n \n \n Event Description \n \n \n \n Because publishing is such a challenging industry\, publishers can’t necessarily produce all the books they’d like to. But you may feel your book offers value to readers. Then self-publishing may be a liberating option. And\, as writers\, we can get very focused on writing our book. But there’s a lot more to producing a book than “just” writing it\, particularly if you’re self-publishing. \n \n \n \n Presenter / Co-Host \n \n \n \n Catherine Pawasarat has worked on three self-published titles (including The Gion Festival: Exploring Its Mysteries)\, and is now collaborating on publishing a group of 17 titles. In this one-hour presentation with Writers in Kyoto\, she’ll share the highlights of what she’s learned\, to help you bring your book into the world.  The main reference point for this presentation will be her book\, The Gion Festival: Exploring Its Mysteries. You can download a gift excerpt here. Learn more about this event’s co-host and remarkable community of writers\, Writers In Kyoto. \n \n \n \n Presentation topics include: \n \n \n \n -Defining your goals for your book;-Defining “success” for your book project;-Identifying your and your books’ unique needs;-Mapping and planning the book production process;-Building your team (it takes a village). \n \n \n \n Event Details \n \n \n \n When and where: \n \n \n \n Friday June 30\, 2023\, 18:00-19:00 PDT (Pacific time\, Americas)Friday\, June 30\,  2023\, 21:00-22:00 EDT (Eastern time\, Americas) Saturday\, July 1\,  2023\, 10:00-11:00 JST (Japan\, Central Australia) You’re welcome to ask questions about the presentation and topic in the FB Event discussion\, here.
